Lead UI Designer

What is Dirtcube?

Dirtcube Interactive LLP is a digital entertainment and interactive media startup located in the Mumbai area. We are a studio with one goal in mind - build products that engage, immerse and entertain. Since our founding, we have built up a team of passionate individuals and laid the groundwork for expertise in mobile gaming and social media applications. Our core focus currently lies in hypercasual games, and our flagship social media app Capshot, which is a social platform for memes and bite sized entertainment.

At Dirtcube we are constantly brainstorming new ideas, and how to improve our existing products. In order to bring our ideas to life, we are looking to expand our team and bring a talented, passionate and ambitious UI designer into the Dirtcube family to imbue our products with a grade A visual experience!

What you will do

Capshot

Capshot is a social media platform for bite-sized humour and entertainment. Unlike other social media applications out there in the market today, our focus is on empowering our users to collaboratively create entertaining content to share with each other - hence multiplying the laughs and increasing engagement! You will be building on what the app currently is, by improving and unifying the UI and experience, designing new features, and utilizing your talents to help achieve business goals such as user retention and engagement metrics through juicing up areas that need improvement, and completely revamping modules where necessary.

Bring new ideas to life

We are currently preparing to begin a new ambitious project which you would be joining right from scratch. You will be working closely with our founders and developers to design the product from the ground up. Our ideal candidate is someone who can contribute not just within their role, but also add to the overall product itself with their ideas and creativity.

You should apply if you have

  • Minimum 2+ years of professional experience, across the field of mobile and web design.

  • Experience working with devs to plan and implement new designs

  • The ability to optimize existing user interface designs and information architectures

  • A solid understanding of testing for intuitivity and experience

  • The ability to combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements

  • Strong experience with creating prototypes for new product ideas

  • Knowledge on how to test new ideas before implementing

  • Strong experience with conducting ongoing user research

  • Strong UX skills - user research, wireframing and prototyping.

  • Expert UI/visual skills - you should have experience with visual design and visual language and understand how paddings, margins, shapes, typography and colors work together.

  • Experience with turning complex problems into simple and engaging customer experiences.

  • A deep understanding of how to translate user stories and business requirements into effective designs.

  • The ability to be a self-driven person with a bias for action who wants to get stuff done. We're looking for a team player who likes to get involved and take ownership. We don’t like to micro-manage.

  • Knowledge of industry design tools, specifically: Sketch and/or  Figma

  • Clear ability to keep up with modern design trends, visual languages and aesthetics

  • Critical thinking skills with an eye for aesthetics, details and problem solving

  • Ability to discuss and explain design options

  • Understanding of interactions and visual design principles.

  • Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills & presentation skills

We'd love if you have:
  • Graphic design and illustration skills

  • Motion graphics and micro interaction design experience

Life at Dirtcube

Working at Dirtcube would instantly make you realize one thing - you are working with a group of individuals who add a little part of themselves to every project, every game. We encourage every person to take ownership of the games they work on and refuse to limit creativity. An idea can come from anywhere, from anyone.

Real talk: pushing oneself comes with the role and should be expected in order to grow. Members of Dirtcube have a constant thirst to learn skills not just within their roles, but across disciplines. We believe in creating a work environment that makes everyone feel that they have skin in the game and provide individuals with a sense of belonging.

We do not believe in ‘work timings’ because we do not use ‘hours spent’ as a metric for calculating productivity. Our focus lies on the results and the actual tangible work produced. Job designations are in name only - every member of Dirtcube operates at a capacity that sometimes cannot be described in a single word, and contributes their talents across roles.

We strive to make working at Dirtcube a unique, enjoyable and sometimes eccentric experience. After all, what fun is it to stay within a box? If you feel at home reading this, get in touch!
