We started Dirtcube to break a stereotype: that India is where you outsource work, not where you invent it. Here's the studio — and the country — we're betting on.
There's a stereotype we've spent our whole careers pushing against — that India is a country best suited for outsourcing, for 'Indian-ising' someone else's product, for building the thing after the idea has already happened somewhere else. We started Dirtcube Interactive to prove that's wrong, and the timing turned out to be better than we knew.
A birthplace for new ideas
From day one the goal was simple: build truly original products that we ourselves would love to use. Not clones. Not ports. Not the same idea with a local skin. Original games, original apps, and the tools to make them — born in Mumbai and built for the whole world.
People don't work for us — they work with us.
That line is the closest thing we have to a company constitution. We keep the team lean on purpose, we refuse to pigeonhole anyone into a single role, and we expect ideas to come from everywhere. A stroke of genius doesn't check your job title first.
The market caught up to the thesis
When we started, 'Indian games studio building original IP' sounded like a contradiction to a lot of people. It doesn't anymore. India is now one of the largest gaming markets on earth by players, and by some counts the second-largest by mobile-game downloads — several times the size of the US or Brazil.

The infrastructure that made that possible — near-free 4G, 800-million-plus smartphones, universal UPI payments, a very young median age — is exactly the infrastructure a homegrown studio can build on. The same phone that streams a cricket match can run a multiplayer game and take a ₹99 payment without friction. That wasn't true a decade ago.
The proof is the pipeline
Talk is cheap, so here's the evidence. Specter — a turnkey game-backend platform, covered by the Times of India as India's first. Gods of Cricket — the world's first true team-multiplayer cricket game, built with Gods & Heroes Studio. Project Ignition — an original vehicle-combat IP. And Riff — an AI playground that turns sentences into games. Four products, four categories, one studio, all shipped from India for the world.
